Applegate Valley
Nestled within the Rogue Valley, Applegate Valley was created on petition by Barnard E. Smith, vintner at Academy Wines. Located south of Grant's Pass, Applegate Valley is a touch warmer and drier than its surrounding appellation. Six vineyards currently call the valley home, and they've planted primarily Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah and Zinfandel.
