The Hungarian name for the Blauer Portugieser that grows throughout Germany and southwestern France. Not known for structure, tannins or weight, things that are usually important in red wine, the Kákoporto can produce some fine, if light, red wines. Currently enjoying somewhat of a rebirth in the Hungarian wine scene.
