Domaine de la Bastide de Michel Olivier Côtes du Lubéron 2006

Vero posted a review:

This red wine of deep color and a nose of black fruit, blueberry and raspberry has a great freshness despite its intensity in the mouth. The wine is marked by round and soft tannins of extreme finesse. This is a great wine to be enjoyed now, however it can also be cellared for several years. Decanting shortly before serving will be beneficial.

Rating: 3.85 / 5.00

Alaia Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Leon Rojo 2004

Ryansnyder posted a review:

I really enjoyed this red from Castilla y Leon. It's brambly, with fruit that rambled from stewed blueberry and baked plum to fresh Bing cherry. Notes of molasses, dark chocolate and potting soil highlight the eccentricity of this wine.

Rating: 4.05 / 5.00

Justagrape posted a review:

So this wine had a lot of flowery aspects to it, that does not mean it is a little sissy. This wine could be like the small, undersized kid in your class that gets picked on by the school bully. That is, until he fights back and everyone finds out he is a third degree black belt in Karate. This wine definitely holds its own and can stand up for itself.

Drtimmers posted a review:

I was a BIG fan of Sunstone... since the early 90's, but visited the winery 5-5-08 to leave unsatisfied and truly revolted. Not only was the wine bad, but the staff.... from the pourers to the management was RUDE, ARROGANT, and lacked BASIC knowledge of the industry and least of all customer service.

Rating: 0.60 / 5.00

Domaine Labbé Vin de Savoie Abymes 2006

Ryansnyder posted a review:

This white from the Savoie region of France, and particularly the village of Abymes, features a crisp, fresh acidity with notes of peach, strawberry and lime. A touch of chalk and river stones soften the acidity, and the wine ends with a mid-finish. Very nice, especially for the price. Some will say to pair this with Thai, and I agree, but I think this is a perfect pairing with mac 'n' cheese!

Rating: 3.60 / 5.00

Vero posted a review:

This wine is made from a very strict selection of vines hand harvested from various parcels in the village of Fuisse and Pouilly. The vines are between 45 and 75 years old, thus bringing the wine a strong character and richness. This is a very mineral and elegant wine with a beautiful structure and fresh finish. Aged for 8 to 10 months in old and new French oak barrels. Best enjoyed within the next 3 to 5 years.

Rating: 4.40 / 5.00

The grapes used to make this beautiful ruby colored wine, which smells of raspberries and blackberries, are gathered by hand. It is a truly well balanced wine, fruity and smooth, with just the right amount of tannins and a long finish in the mouth.

The smooth and wide palate reveals the same flowery and citrus aromas with a nice freshness. White fruits such as pears and peaches are found on the finish. Drink now with red meat, game, and fresh cheeses.

Touches of cinnamon and spice follow onto the medium to full-bodied juicy palate. The tannins are firm, ripe, and well integrated.
