Crémant d'Alsace

The AOC that applies to the sparkling wines of Alsace, the region on the border of Germany. Alsace has been a famous wine region for at least 500 years, though the sparkling wines are a much more recent addition. These wines are produced in the traditional method of Champagne production which is the best and most expensive way to produce sparkling wine. Crémant d'Alsace can be an excellent and less costly alternative to Champagne.

Many grapes can be used in the production of Crémant including Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir which is used to make Crémant rosé.
