Located just to the southeast of Howell Mountain, Chiles Valley is a long, narrow valley that runs through the Vaca Mountains in northeastern Napa Valley. The Vaca Mountains shield the area from coastal breezes that affect the rest of Napa Valley, keeping the climate here moderate. Currently over 1,000 acres of Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc are grown in the 6,000 acre appellation.
