The Italian name for Pinot Blanc. This light and lively varietal is yet another of the many derivatives of the Pinot Noir. Grown throughout the northern reaches of Italy, most notably in the Trentino-Alto Adige, Lombardy and the Veneto. Known in Italy for producing fruity wines of medium acidity and a soemwhat neutral nose. Used frequently in the production of Spumante.
