tonifad reviewed Marco Curto Piedmont Arborina 2006 on August 24, 2011 Blackcurrant aromas constantly flowing out of the glass followed by stony flavours, flowers, blackberries, wet forest floor, and then, more berries that just keep coming. Sweet at the outset, hard tannins and thus somewhat astringent. But, this wine really developed in the glass, and it became a joy to taste after a while. I would like to say that it went on for hours, but I guess that is too much, but it is safe to say that at 22 EUR I have not tasted a nebbiolo this long. tonifad reviewed Arianna Occhipinti Il Frappato 2008 on August 24, 2011 Still some sulphur notes on the notes, but when you get past that, there’s an abundance of warm red berries, earthy, and spicy aromas. Fresh, very fresh. Precise. Pure. And very long. Intriguing wine. Familiar (red burgundy meets mature nebbiolo), and yet very different. More here: http://bit.ly/pQLXdM |
