Colombelle is produced by Plaimont Winery, which was founded in 1979 when the wineries of Plaisance, Aignan and Saint Mont joined forces to create a single entity. Located half way between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic Ocean, in southwest France, the vineyard covers 250 ha of rounded hills of clay and limestone. The climate enjoys the ocean influence from the Atlantic in the West and the influence of the mountain in the South. The South and East facing slopes (grave and clay) are planted with red grape varieties. The steeper western slopes with clay and limestone are home to the white varieties.
