vincast reviewed Tyrus Evan Syrah Washington Walla Walla 2004 on October 8, 2007 Spectacular wine. From the moment the wine hit the glass, the fleshy clear, dark-ruby color was vibrant candy to the eye. Intense blackberry & cherry on the nose with hints of spice & ever so slight smoke fills the nostrils. The palate is sexy, creamy & silkly as dark warm chocolate. Extreme berry, but enough acidity to keep the complex lingering taste making you want more. It took nearly 1-2 hours to open up, suspect another year or two it will be even better (if that is possible). If I were to give this wine a number 93 points, with potential for 94-96 in a few years. |
