I had to go to Jancis Robinson to learn that St. George is an anglicized name for Agiorgitiko (and presumably no relation to the American rootstock St. George).

Very pleasant blackberry nose and taste with a light touch of oak. More complexity than you would expect from an $11 wine. Soft entry, but the acidity provides a nice freshness.

Very versatile at the table - it went quite well with both a spicy beef stew and barbecued pork. No doubt it would do well with turkey or duck.

All in all, a very good value - and a nice change of pace.
