esbrown reviewed Carparelli Primitivo del Tarantino IGT 2002 on April 13, 2005 Not so much of a red wine as a purple wine, this beauty from the southern coast of Italy has firm and full aromas of black cherries, purple flowers and a touch of clove. The palate is spicy as well with hints of black pepper and allspice mixed in with very rich and extracted black fruit flavors. The tannins are plush but a little tight. Best to let this breath for 45 minutes or so before drinking. |
