esbrown reviewed Domaine LaDue Merlot Napa Valley 2002 on September 18, 2005 Big black cherry fruitiness right up front on the nose, followed by mint and eucalyptus, and then cocoa and a certain tobacco leaf character. The palate is more typical of Napa Merlot with cocoa, chocolate, black raspberries and dry, cedary tannins. There is a touch more of the tobacco, however, and a little dustiness. The finish has nice length and complexity for a Merlot in this price range. |
