ryansnyder reviewed Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs Brut California 2001 on February 13, 2006 The first impression of this blanc de blancs is a heavy brioche on the nose and a powerful effervescence -- you can watch it create ripples in the wine as the bubbles explode upward. On the palate it displays a plethora of fruits, including green apple, pear, lemon zest, and a hint of blood orange. The finish is a subtle apple and yeast, and quite dry at that. |
