esbrown reviewed Spy Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2004 on March 20, 2006 Watery white in color, with a slight shimmer. The nose has the usual NZ Sauv. Blanc suspects (grapefruit, starfruit, a little gooseberry) but also lime zest, acacia flowers and orange blossom. Green apple, lime, grapefruit and a slight almond oxidative note float on a creamy frame. Dry, but with slightly more action than the usual NZ Sauvignon, leading into a long mineral laden finish. |
