Howell Mountain is situated in the northern portion of Napa Valley, where it overlooks Saint Helena from its mountaintop roost. It rests atop the Vaca Mountain range with vineyards at an altitude ranging from 1,400 to 2,200 feet, which wards off the fog that permeates Napa Valley. The rocky, porous soils of volcanic ash and red clay provide excellent drainage for the vines holding Bordeaux and Zinfandel varietals.
