ryansnyder reviewed Marc Tempé Alsace Priegel Grand Cru Pinot Blanc 2002 on February 27, 2007 This is one hell of a wacky wine... I love it. Roasted pecans and a subtle oxidation scent on the nose are followed by an experience on the palate that is all over the place. Fruits like German Spatlese. Uber-minerality. Roasted walnuts and pecans. Aniseeed, white pepper, baklava. Crisp, yet dry. Finish that lasts for minutes. Minutes! I dig wine, but rarely am excited the way this Pinot Blanc excites me. |
