winehunter reviewed St. Francis Old Vines Zinfandel Sonoma County 2001 on February 6, 2005 A delicious Zin. Typical for St. Francis, who I think has been making really nice Zins for several years. Rich is the key word. Spicey, jammy, and quite complex. Still on its way up the hill, I think it will improve for a few years. See the 1996. I think Winegeeks underrated this one, it's a 7.0 minimum. |

ryansnyder reviewed St. Francis Old Vines Zinfandel Sonoma County 2001 on January 3, 2005 Baked blueberry and black cherry with notes of topsoil, cedar, tobacco, leather, cinnamon and nutmeg. Good length with a light wintergreen on the finish. Nice balance of tannins and fruit. Very rich. |
