esbrown reviewed Albino Rocca Dolcetto d'Alba 2004 on August 24, 2005 Slightly austere in its youth, but not without charm and a pleasant mix of fruit and earth. Rose petal, bright red fruits, and a touch of saddle leather mix in and out of the aroma, with similar notes on the palate but also a decidedly brambly note. Sharp acids make this a candidate for a year in the cellar, but not unattractive now. Certainly needs some food to tame the acids and tannins. |
