esbrown reviewed Woodward Canyon Estate Red Walla Walla Valley 2001 on September 18, 2005 A dense purple monster, whose tentacles of aroma positively shoot out of the glass and take hold of the closest unsuspecting nose. Extremely ripe aromas of black cherries, currants, mocha, toffee and coffee feel almost sweet. Flavors of raspberries, black currants, dried cherries, chocolate, cedar and dust take turns at enticing the taste buds, each bigger and more silky than the next. Bold and tannic, this wine is in need of both food and time. |
